Breath of Belonging
A ceremonial evening of sacred breath, sound and story
A Gathering to Remember Our Original Belonging
You are invited to a sacred evening of remembrance – an embodied return to connection – through breath, sound and shared story of living in South Africa and our deep connections to this land.Breath of Belonging is the first offering of Living Ancestors: a field of remembrance and a return to original belonging – to self, to the land, to one another. It is an invitation to those we see and honour as committed to this land and its people, to participate in weaving a more just and beautiful future for all.
We will gather in a sacred container, guided by breath, sound, cacao, and storytelling, to remember:
- Who we are beneath the stories.
- Where we come from.
- And what it means to belong.
This evening is for those who finds themselves asking deeper questions – about their place in the world, their impact on the future, and what it might mean to live embodied as a Living Ancestor: one who carries the wisdom of the past while consciously shaping a more connected, compassionate, and regenerative tomorrow. It is for those who seek reconnection – across histories, identities, generations, and experiences. Whether you carry grief or joy, questions or stories, silence or song – you are welcome.
Ceremonial Flow- We begin by entering the space in silence, held by ceremonial sound.
- The evening opens with a shared story – an invocation of what it means to be a Living Ancestor in this time.
- A sacred cacao ritual awakens our hearts, and leads into a breathwork journey supported by sound and deep presence.
- We are guided by the power of African vibration and sound, through a sonic journey of healing and connection, and in to collective sounding.
- There is space for reflection and shared stories.
- We close the space in reverence, quietly carrying the resonance of what was shared into the world beyond.
- To hold our past with curiosity, courage and compassion
- To meet the present with gratitude, grace and generosity
- To shape a future that is just, regenerative, and beautiful for all
